Fair Housing + Tenants’ Rights

LACCLA engages in affirmative litigation designed to push back against housing practices that have a disproportionate, and negative, impact on protected classes of residents in California. In particular, LACCLA’s current and planned litigation is focused on ending the widespread displacement of Latino residents from neighborhoods throughout Los Angeles County.

Additionally, LACCLA represents tenants in eviction proceedings, often as part of a larger campaign to prevent the mass displacement of entire buildings or neighborhoods of tenants facing unaffordable rent increases and deplorable housing conditions. LACCLA represents these tenants in affirmative cases, as well, including in cases brought in light of illegal slumlord practices.
