Community Meetings

Weekly community meetings give our members an opportunity to collaborate and exchange ideas in person. Every meeting is held in Spanish with English translation and ends with a free legal clinic, where anyone can talk one-on-one with one of our attorneys. Join us every Saturday at 5:15 p.m. at 407 S. Chicago Street, on the corner of 4th and Chicago.

Canvassing

LACCLA canvasses buildings in Los Angeles County where residents face the immediate threat of displacement. Some of these buildings were recently purchased by large investors who plan significant rent hikes for existing tenants. Others are single-family properties scheduled for sale at foreclosure auction. Our canvassing program attempts to engage anyone we meet, including tenants, homeowners and former owners, in our community-based strategy to resist displacement and keep existing residents in their homes and in their neighborhoods.

Public Action

LACCLA takes public action when necessary to support its members. We hold public rallies and marches to raise awareness about individual cases and to connect cases to community-wide issues like displacement and economic injustice.
